Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. – Isaiah 26:3

Hi Family!

Without a doubt, for the past couple weeks the entire world has been shaken. Inundated with reports here , there and everywhere about the coronavirus, we’ve had a multitude of uneasy emotions coursing through us. From uncertainty, to fear, to panic, to paranoia, to frustration, to disconnect, to isolation, to mistrust, to hysteria and the like. Ephesians 4:14 cautions us to not be “tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine.” Yet it seems as the news reports change so do the ebbs and tides of emotions. This should not be so. The Lord’s rich, encouraging and life enhancing promises in His Word guides us toward a better way.

As I walked in my home office today I heard Yolanda Adams’ song “In The Midst Of It All” just beginning to play. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SqGjIKEhRxo I walked in right in time. It was a song for me to hear as well as to share. It speaks of Jesus’ keeping power in the midst of storm, trials, uncertainty, attacks of the enemy, battles, adversity and temptations. For the past week or so I’ve heard the statement “With all that’s going on …” too many times to count. Sounds like an “In the midst of it all” situation. When the disciples were caught in the midst of a storm, with all that was going on around them, they knew the name to call on and who to reach out to for deliverance. Jesus, the only name that can deliver, commands the storms in our lives to “Be still” and peace to be expressed. His name gives us the power to persevere and prevail.

So as we all go through (and I do mean “through”) this passing storm together, let us keep our hearts stayed on our Lord and trust Him. Let us feed on His Word and share and encourage each other, praying one for another, fortifying ourselves with His truth. We may be cautioned for now not to congregate together or do our friendly greetings like hugging, kissing and even shaking hands. Yet our Lord and Father’s hand is always available to us to hold on to. It carries no threat, just security, love, assurance and protection. So we all need to continue to “hold on (hold tight) to His unchanging hand.”
