…Telling the generations to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. That the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.” – Psalm 78: 4,6,7

Hi Family!

I’ve heard so many people say, “If it were not for my Mother’s prayers I don’t know where I’d be; my Mother’s prayers helped save my life, my Mother’s prayers led me to the Lord, my Mother’s prayers kept me out of trouble, my Mother’s prayers encouraged me…” There’s something about a Mother’s prayers that has the ability to not only touch and transform lives, but they seem to reach into the depths of heaven and stir the Lord’s heart to action. A Mother’s prayers are backed by an immeasurable faith. Her prayers can move mountains that were otherwise big obstructions.

I cannot express enough how vital it is as a Mother to not only pray for but also with your children. I recently spoke with a woman from the Czech Republic who expressed that there is such a profound and positive effect in having prayer and God as the center of a family. Along with creating a common ground for a Mother and her children to stand on, these prayers will open doors of possibilities. Children will learn to trust that their words are heard and will be answered. Building your child’s faith through prayer is one of the greatest gifts you can give that will equip them for life. Our children will seek God, consulting Him on decisions, being able to address any issue that may come their way.

I have gone many times before the Lord in prayer on our children’s behalf and witnessed His miraculous, only God could have pulled that off, results for them. Mothers, your prayers are invaluable. Pray for and with your children. Pray for their circle of friends, pray for their going out and safe return in, pray for their overall well-being, pray for their future families, pray for them to use wisdom, pray for their growth in the Lord, pray for them to discover the great destiny the Lord has for them. Keep your children before the Lord every day.

Mothers, I encourage you, whether you are new to prayer or more seasoned; whether you are growing in faith with your children, as we started years ago with our children (and we can honestly say we are still growing in our faith today) or you are a faith champion; As you find out for yourself or as you find out together, please let your children know how important speaking to the Lord through prayer is. How rewarding developing a relationship with Him is and about the wonderful treasures and life’s answers awaits them as they delve into and begin applying the practical principles of His Word. They in turn “may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God.”
