I once heard someone say on a radio program, “People buy why I do what I do, not what I do.” 

It led me to conclude that many aren’t particularly interested in who we are, what we do, our accolades, our accomplishments, etc. – those are all fine to note. But more importantly, folks are fascinated by the stories which nurture our dreams, plans, goals, visions.  The “why” we do what we do. What drives us, what is our motivation? What keeps us inspired? What is our story behind the person, the business, the family and so on? Why do you do what you do?

You’ll also find with religious practices people aren’t compelled by what you call yourself, if you have valid, albeit convincing reasons why you believe what you believe and if your life is a reflection of your beliefs. Many lives have been “won” by the story of a man named Jesus whose destiny was to live to die so that many lives may be saved. Captivated and motivated by this compelling life story of such pure and unselfish love, as well as an insurmountable number of real life testimonials, many people worldwide have chosen to devote their lives in service and honor to him, continuing to share His story.

Today calls for reflection. What is your purpose/why? As the chapters of your lives are being written, what areas are being highlighted, what marks are being made, what lives are being impacted, what values are being fashioned? And as your life’s journey comes to a close, who will tell your story or will it have already been written? 

Every life has value, every life has a story to tell and a story that must be told.  It’s never too late.  Make Your Life The Best One Ever Written.
