At our New Years Eve Service, our Pastor, Bishop Shammah Womack-El, let us know that this year, 2016, is the year for us to “Make our mark for God (Abba, YHWH)”.
What I took that to mean is that this is the year to make a life imprint on the earth. Questions like, “Will the earth have resonated with my presence at all? Did I live?
Did I love? Did I matter?”, should be at the fore front of our minds. Every day should mean something, produce something. I once read a book “The Prayer of Jabez” by Bruce Wilkinson. It was based on the scripture, 1 Chronicles 4:10, “Oh, that you would bless me indeed and enlarge my territory. That your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil that I may not cause pain! So God granted him what he requested.” The premise of the book was for us to ask God to bless us in order for us to be a blessing. For Him to bless us enough so we can make an impact for Him. Enlarge our territory or our opportunities in order for us to expand the Kingdom here on earth.”
This year is a call for us to “get cracking”, get serious; live a life not in vain, but one filled with purpose for the Lord.
